Jeju Island launches ‘Flogging to Save Jeju’s Clean Seas’ with Jeju Airlines

Jeju United (Jeju), together with Jeju Air, unites in the Jeju Sea for the love of the environment.

Jeju has been carrying out various localization and social contribution activities as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. In particular, it is creating eco-friendly social value by further activating practical ESG (environmental, social responsibility, and corporate governance) activities. The ‘Flogging to Save Jeju’s Clean Sea’ held on October 10 with our sponsor, Jeju Air, is one of the products of our efforts and concerns. 38 Jeju players, the club’s staff, the secretariat, and the Jeju Air flight attendant volunteer group ‘Ecomer’ participated in the flogging, which was held at the Yeongrak-ri breakwater in Daejeong-eup, Jeju Island, 사설 토토사이트 where southern bottlenose dolphins often appear.

The participants carried out environmental cleanup activities to collect various types of trash around the breakwater, while also raising awareness of marine life, including the endangered internationally protected species, the southern bottlenose dolphin.

A special award ceremony was also held to motivate them. Director Kim Hak-beom’s performance was remarkable. He was a strong contender for the Passion Award when he found a large discarded couch and moved it with all his might. As a result, Nam Tae-hee, Yeo Hong-kyu, and Hong Jae-seok were nominated and became finalists for the Passion Award alongside Kim Hak-beom, and through rock-paper-scissors, Nam Tae-hee won the Passion Award.

However, Jeju Air responded by uploading a photo of a large discarded couch that they personally collected for director Kim Hak-bum, who was unfortunately eliminated (?). The fiercest flogging masters were Ahn Tae-hyun, Hong Jun-ho, Hong Jae-seok, Yoo Yuri, Lim Chang-woo, and Seo Jin-soo, who received special prizes of “Jeju Air X Sanrio Characters” stationery.

The Jeju athletes who did not win the award also showed their love for the Jeju Sea by collecting various trash around the Yeongrak-ri breakwater in Daejeong-eup, along with Jeju Air flight attendants.

Jeju plans to continue to carry out various campaigns to contribute to the improvement of the local environment, including voluntary flogging by the athletes. Coach Kim Hak-beom, who spread goodwill with the Jeju athletes, said, “Environmental protection has a greater meaning when practiced. If I have the opportunity in the future, I will continue to protect and defend my hometown of Jeju Island with the players.”
