PSG boss “Lee is an explosive player who has proven what he can do”

PSG coach Luis Enrique talks to substitute Lee Kang-in during the second half of the Coupang Play Series third leg match between Jeonbuk Hyundai and Paris Saint-Germain FC at Busan Asiad Stadium in Yeonje-gu, Busan, South Korea, on Aug. 3.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) coach Luis Enrique has given a thumbs-up to the returning ‘Golden Boy’ Lee Kang-in (22). Enrique has hinted that he wants to use Lee, who can play a variety of positions.

PSG will host Strasbourg in the ninth round of the 2023-24 French Ligue 1 on Sept. 22.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the match, Enrique emphasized the “motivation” of the players returning to the squad after the international break. After the match against Strasbourg on Nov. 22, PSG will immediately prepare for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) Group F third leg against AC Milan (Italy) on Nov. 26.

There was also a mention of Lee, who returned to action just over a month after playing an A match for Klinsmann at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

“He is an explosive player who has proven himself with the team,” Enrique said, “a midfielder who will play a central role at PSG.”

“He is a box-to-box midfielder, but he can also play as a false nine or winger. He is an interesting player who knows how to make the final pass if he has the ability to score goals.”

Lee, who joined PSG from Mallorca (Spain) this summer, missed nearly a month with a left quadriceps injury after the second round of the league in August.

Lee made his comeback against Dortmund (GER) on March 20, and since then, he has had some of his best performances at the Hangzhou Asian Games and for the South Korean national soccer team.

He won a gold medal in Hangzhou, where he received military service benefits, and he also shined for the A team, scoring three goals and providing one assist in two games.

The French Ligue 1 website also announced the news of Lee’s return after more than a month. “Lee Kang-in is back after playing for the South Korean national team for nearly a month,” the outlet explained.

French outlet L’Equipe also expressed excitement, saying, “Lee’s return will give PSG new options.”

Many fans are eager to see if Lee’s left foot can sparkle, as he has yet to make an impact at PSG. 슬롯사이트
