Yoon Jun-hyuk as been ruled out for the season

KT Wiz infielder Yoon Jun-hyuk, 23, has been ruled out for the season with a fractured finger after taking a punt in training.

KT made changes to its first-team roster ahead of its game against the Suwon Samsung on Sept. 19. Yoon Jun-hyuk was removed from the first team roster and Kwon Dong-jin was called up to the first team.

In the pre-match press briefing, head coach Lee Kang-cheol said, “Yesterday (Nov. 18), Yoon Jun-hyuk got hit in the finger while receiving a pongo, and it became a fracture. He was trying to play but got hurt. I’m going to use Jun-hyuk as a backup now, and I’m going to use him as a starter…. Yesterday, we were going to start him in the starting lineup, but he got injured while receiving a pogo.” The unexpected injury took the player out of the lineup.

“Yoon Jun-hyuk fractured the third finger of his left hand and was told that he needs two to three months to return,” said a KT team official.

Yoon joined KT with the 32nd pick in the fourth round of the second round of the 2020 rookie draft. He played in the Futures League before enlisting in the military in mid-2020 and was discharged last year.

He can play both third base and shortstop. He showed improvement at the plate this year, batting .929 with six home runs, 33 RBIs, and an OPS of .929 in 68 games (197-for-197) for the second team.

Yoon made his professional debut on June 19 against Lotte, his first in five years.

Yoon, who was in developmental player status after his military discharge, was registered as an official player on June 18 and made his professional debut on June 19 against Lotte, his first in five years. He stayed with the first team for three days, 토토사이트 going 0-for-4 in two games before being sent back down to the second team.

In mid-July, Yoon received a call-up opportunity and recorded his first hit on July 18 against Kiwoom. His second call-up lasted three days in the first team. After spending five days with the first team in mid-August, Yoon Jun-hyuk was called back up to the first team on the last four days and was given the opportunity to start at third base for three consecutive games. He was set to start against Samsung on the 18th, but a somewhat bizarre injury ended his season.

“I always say that you can only play if you’re a good defender,” Lee said, ”and Jun-hyuk’s defense has improved a lot, so I’ve been using him once or twice lately. Jun-hyuk said he thought he’d be a backup next year, but it’s okay to hit. He was injured while thinking about it,” he lamented.

Yoon finished his rookie season with a disappointing 13 games in the first team this year, batting 1-for-7 with three doubles, three runs scored and a .516 OPS in 18 at-bats.
