GS Caltex Women’s Professional Volleyball’s “Mint Boss,” Han Soo-ji, who has been a warm big sister to her younger teammates and a role model for them as a captain on the court, is hanging up her volleyball and starting a new life.
Han made her first appearance in adult volleyball in 2006, when she graduated from Geonyoung Girls’ High School and joined GS Caltex as a first-round pick. A setter at the time, she won the Rookie of the Year award 스포츠토토사이트 in her first season.
She moved to Hyundai E&C as a compensation player in 2007 and won the Setter of the Year award in the 2009-2010 season, and wore the Ginseng Corporation (now Jung Kwan-jang) jersey as a compensation player in 2010. She was moved to middle blocker for the 2016-2017 season, where she excelled in her new position.
After returning to her hometown team GS Caltex through a trade in the 2019-2020 season, she played a key role in helping GS Caltex achieve a treble in the 2020-2021 season, and in the 2022-2023 season, she led GS Caltex’s middle blocking, ranking first in the blocking category.
“I’m happy and sad, but I’m going to take another step forward,” she told the club. I would be lying if I said that I didn’t have difficult days while playing volleyball, but in the end, I was happy with all the days that passed. I am grateful to those who have supported me throughout my career,” she said in her retirement speech.
Meanwhile, GS Caltex will hold a retirement ceremony during the 2024-2025 season to support Han Su-ji in her new life.
