Park Joo-ho Unveils Korea Electric Power Reinforcement Committee

“With fairness, this problem would not have happened…”

Park Joo-ho (37), who exposed the process of the Korea Football Association’s appointment of a coach for the Korean national soccer team, once again expressed regret.

“I gained strength from many people’s support and support,” Park told reporters at the pop-up store of FC 7-Eleven with K-League X Sanrio Characters at Lotte World Mall in Jamsil, Seoul on Wednesday. “I will continue to make efforts to develop soccer.”

Park Joo-ho announced the resignation of the National Power Reinforcement Committee through his YouTube channel on the 8th, revealing that the national team’s power reinforcement committee did not return to normal. In particular, regarding the appointment of head coach Hong Myung-bo (55), he said, “I didn’t know at all,” and “I thought a lot that there was no need for a power reinforcement committee. I’m also a member of the power reinforcement committee, so I’ll take responsibility and resign.”

This is the first time Park Joo-ho, who has left for Germany since then, has made an official appearance.

“The reason I uploaded the (explosive) video was because I decided that I had to talk about it for the development of Korean soccer,” Park said. “I focused on delivering the story of the five months that took place within the committee. I thought it was helpful for the development of Korean soccer. I didn’t think about other parts in a complicated way.”

Park Joo-ho received public support when he disclosed what happened inside the power reinforcement committee. When the Korea Football Association mentioned Park Joo-ho’s pledge on a “secret pledge” regarding his activities as a member of the power reinforcement committee in April, the voice of opposition grew as he questioned the possibility of legal review. As even soccer players such as Lee Young-pyo and Park Ji-sung supported Park Joo-ho, the Korea Football Association became more embarrassed.

“I think everyone feels the same way,” Park said. “The association needs to change more systematically to help develop Korean soccer. It is everyone’s wish.” “We have received personal contact from the association officials (who discussed legal review), but there has been no official contact.”

Park Joo-ho also expressed a different stance on OB football chairman Lee Hoi-taek’s claim that Hong should be empowered. “If we had gone through the normal process, this problem would not have happened,” Park said. “I think we should make an objective judgment while watching (Coach Hong’s) move in the future.”
